Some kind of introduction

I guess this is a homepage of sorts, similar to the websites of web 1.0 - static, simple, easily rendered, devoid of hefty scripts, and joyously amateur. I enjoyed that era of the web, and even had my own music fan-site, now archived for posterity.

Some things that interest me:

Digital noise

It's easy to feel as though you're the only one overwhelmed by the digital noise. The tech entrepreneurs of Web 2.0 built monolothic empires that are focussed on capturing the attention of users and selling their data to the highest bidders.

Consider this - we create content for these platforms for FREE in most cases. This content supports their parasitic business model and drives more user engagement. What do we get out of it? This is the attention economy.

Ozymandias

So, there's this fanciful idea I have of some sort of last remaining edifice of extinct humanity at the end of the world, where all of that other stuff is dust - long forgotten. One can think again in a place like that.
